Emotional mapping

Local residents (students) from Eindhoven were asked to use a web-application on their mobile phone throughout the day and for the duration of three weeks. They were asked to introduce adjectives to places that trigger a certain feeling. They could either introduce a new adjective or vote on a previous input, in case that – corresponding to the place – previous mappers had already allocated feelings to the spot. As the map grew gradually I could get insight as to where in the city more collective or diverse feeling take place and how different moments of the day can be of influence in the changing moods. It helped the students to become more aware of the different aspects that define a place and of how it is experienced/ perceived by others.
